Metsähallitus complies with the recommendations and precautionary principles issued by the public authorities due to the corona virus outbreak. Customer service is suspended in nature visitor centers, Science Center Pilke and other customer service points for the time being starting March 16th. Web, social media and phone services provided by Metsähallitus will continue and increase.
In some of the nature visitor centers and customer service points private partner companies are producing the services. Metsähallitus will negotiate with the partners about the continuation of the customer services. Situation will be clarified as soon as possible. Up-to-date information and guidance can be found from our websites www.metsa.fi/web/en, www.nationalparks.fi/web/outdoors.fi and our visitor center customer service numbers.
Public services and exhibition guidance services have been cancelled at nature visitor centers until further notice. All events and group bookings at Science Center Pilke have also been cancelled for now.
Metsähallitus encourages people to enjoy the outdoors, but following the healthcare authorities’ instructions. Picnic sites, cooking huts, daytrip huts and wilderness huts can be used for, but customers are encouraged to follow the advice from healthcare authorities. We advise to avoid the most popular destinations.
