Project development of the Korsnäs offshore wind power project is well under way

The joint Vattenfall and Metsähallitus offshore wind power project at Korsnäs on the west coast of Finland continues its surveys both on land and at sea. Geophysical surveys currently underway at sea will contribute to producing key data for the technical planning of the project. The EIA procedure then proceeds to the preparation of the EIA report and a draft plan.

Stakeholder interaction with the project will remain active. In the summer, the project group met residents and municipal decision-makers at local events in Korsnäs and Närpiö. This autumn, schools will be visited to discuss energy and issues related to climate change and the green transition.

The offshore wind power project is attracting a great deal of national interest. During the autumn, several groups from, among others, different municipalities and the Åland Islands will visit Korsnäs and the Korsnäs offshore wind power project.
